James Bond section

Project 1:

The fog machine

Tired of looking some asshole too close to your rear? a tailgater?

Or maybe for getting fun only... make your car smoke like the James Bond one.

Parts required:

1 Windshield washer reservoir, look for a kit, it comes with a built in pump, switch, and plastic hoses.

1 Switch, in my case I ordered one from Porsche, the one used for the headlight washer, so they fits nicely on the dashboard, part# .......mmmm...

1 copper pipe, aprox 4mm dia, and half a meter long will be enough.

1 Fuel cuttoff valve. This is required in order to prevent leaking from the washer reservoir.

Installation:

First, look a suitable place to fit the windshield waser reservoir, it must be firmly secured with the help of plastic fasteners. I installed it in the engine compartment, as the picture showns...

These washer reservoir has two wires (from the electric motor) so as soon as you put 12 volts there, the liquid just comes out on the plastic hose. Connect one (black) to the chasis.

Then, you have to fix the electric fuel cuttoff valve, Why a fuel cutoff valve? well, we will not use it for fuel, but a generic fuel valve is cheap (around $15). See the picture...

You can see the fuel cutoff valve secured with three plastic fasteners. The fuel cutoff valve has two wires too. Connect one to the chassis (ground) too, an the other with the other free wire from the washer reservoir (at this point you have the two devices in parallel, so they will be activated at the same time.). These wire must be carried to the dashboard, so you can apply 12v using the switch. Then atach the plastic hose (the one that comes from the washer reservoir) to the fuel cutoff valve inlet. Then use another piece of plastic hose on the fuel cutoff valve outlet, and let the hose go down to the underside.

Now you can see the plastic hose meeting the copper pipe. And the copper pipe on the exhaust manifold. The loop you can see on the copper pipe it is for heat disipation, so the heat can´t reach the plastic hose. There is a trick in order to get the copper pipe inside the exhaust manifold without exhaust leaks. First, measure the diammeter of the copper pipe with a caliper, mine reads 4 mm. Then drill a hole in the exhaust manifold, but the hole must be a little small. I do a 3.75mm hole. Yes, I know, you can´t put a 4mm pipe into a 3.75mm hole, so take a sandpaper, or a grinding machine, and obtain a cone in the end of the copper pipe. Grind the copper pipe´s faces until it gets into the hole. Nice pressure fit!, and does not leak.

And the dashboard, my car does not come with headlight washers, so I have a spare hole in the dash...

Then I installed a switch here.... and conected one terminal to +12v from the tach, and the other terminal goes to the rear and it is joined with the remaining valve and the reservoir wires.

Now you have to fill the reservoir with fluid, yes you can use anything here, used oil, etc.

But It will be better if you use Glycerin with water, 50% and 50%. This gives you a very heavy smoke, white and without scent.
